Clearance Rack is added...

Hi there, I thought I would let you know some exciting news :) Stampin' Up! has added a clearance rack on my online store (click here or click on the link on the right side bar). Items are available on a first come first serve basis. The discount is substantial and it will not be replenished as these are their overstock. I found some items for myself yesterday :) Note: this is only available as an online order and only to US addresses.

My card today combines 2 challenges: the sketch comes from FTL61 and the color combo comes from CAS34 on SCS. I started with a Chocolate Chip card base, added the Bashful Blue strip and white scalloped edge. I punched out a Pretty in Pink circle, stamped with tiny flowers repeatedly. Added the button, sentiment and mounted the circle with dimensionals. After I finished, I thought it still looked empty, hence the additions of those stamped flowers on the top  right hand corner. I thought it helps balance out the design.

Thanks for stopping by...

Leaves, leaves...

Woohoo! A "new" friend came over today! She is a craft lover who has a heart for local handicrafts workers in Indonesia and needless to say, we talked about one subject all the time. (Hello, Ariani! Looking forward to our next adventure together). This card is what I showed to her while she was here. Just a simple row of leaves on a piece of kraft card stock piece. Tied with twine, added sentiment and button and the whole panel was mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like it.

An invitation and a tutu

Hello there! It is the end of a short week here, hurray! Definitely the best time to be in Jakarta this week, no traffic at all. All the residents have gone away and you could practically zip around town in no time!

I found this pretty paper with tutus and pointed ballerina shoes all over it that inspired me to make this card. I punched it out and made it a focal point for a simple card. I whipped up a few of these in no time. I love girly cards :)

And while I was at it, I made an invitation for our neighbor that we wanted to thank for helping us out on our arrival here- here it is. Hope you like these. Thanks for stopping by...

First Christmas card this year

My first Christmas card this year. Unconventional colors but hey, we live in a tropical place so I think the color combo fits :) This would also be a simple layout to mass produce. Enjoy...

Recipe (all by SU! unless mentioned)
Cardstock and paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, K&Co dp
Stamp set: Best Wishes & More
Ink: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip
Everything else: Scallop edge punch, Marvy square punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, brads, button

Bravo Burgundy...

This is a specially made anniversary card for my friend Lydia, who requested Burgundy color which was her wedding color. Lydia and I used to hang out together when we were single, but now we are both married and live in different cities. This weekend, she is flying over to Jakarta so we will meet and catch up and I will hand this card for her (I hope she likes it)... :)

I started with a burgundy card base and a burgundy swirly glittery patterned paper to cover both front and back. I played around with ribbon placement when I discovered that I could double wrap the ribbon before tying into a bow to give it a lovely effect. I then added a "for you" tag hanging on the ribbon.

This is the inside of the card. I cut the Very Vanilla card stock and left over patterned paper, adhered them together. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the swirl.

This is the back of the card that I added "hand stamped with love", which is really true :)
Thank you all for stopping by. Have a restful weekend.

Recipe (all by SU! unless mentioned)
Cardstocks and paper: Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, MME dp
Stamp sets: Season of Joy (swirl), Stamped from the Heart, Say it with Scallops, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black
Everything else: ribbon from my stash, button, Marvy punch, Scallop Edge punch, scallop square punch, Stampin' Dimensionals.

For my friend- card set

Happy Friday! Going to be a long quiet weekend in our house, we all need a break after running around since our arrival here. Just some days to rest and be with family. Looking forward to no traffic in Jakarta because of Idul Fitri!

Here is a quick card set that I whipped up for our neighbor who had kindly helped us get settled on our arrival. They provided our first night dinner, made sure our apartment was comfortable and clean (that was huge! The AC was blasting when we stepped in the door after the heat outside and the long trip on the plane) and brought me to to the grocery store my first week here. I thought a sentiment "For my friend" would be general enough to work for any occasion.

Thanks for stopping by. You all have a good day, wherever you are :)

Recipe (all by SU! unless mentioned):
Cardstock and paper: Kraft, K & Co. dp
Stamp set: Elegant Cheer
Ink: Basic Black
Everything else: buttons, Curly Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

hello baby...

Hi there! Happy midweek. Here, in this part of the world, the month of fasting (Ramadhan) is almost over. Next week is Idul Fitri. Our cook will be taking off for a week first thing tomorrow morning. The feeling is just like Christmas in North America. The shops are crowded, every household is baking lots and lots of treat :)

This is a baby card... hello baby Annaliese, that is :) Whom I have yet to see because she lives with her parents in Beijing, China. The flocked birdie paper (a gift from my friend Mary) just fits for a baby :) Added the round tab punch there just for a little interest. My thing for a card is "simple with a twist". I hope you like it.

Stamp: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper and cardstock: Blush Blossom, Very vanilla, Kraft, Fiskars dp.
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Everything else: Scallop Edge punch, Round Tab punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, button

An apple for a teacher

Hello!! This being Saturday, I thought I would take a break from unpacking to play with color combos and stamp sets and since my friend Plackie asked for a thank you teacher image, I thought I would use that question as my starting point today. Here it is.

The apple image is colored with Garden Green and Ruby Red markers. Kraft card base and Garden Green patterned paper. I had a half piece of Top Note die lying around so I used that as my first focal point. I wrapped twine around it and stamped the sentiment. I thought adding the 2 brads would draw the eye to the sentiment so that was what I did.

The second card is a simple and fast one-in case you need to mass produce it- this would be the design to go for. Kraft card base, Garden Green patterned paper. The same image was punched out, mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals, sentiment and finished off with the brads.

A tip that I discovered: when you scallop an edge, make sure you reverse the paper/ cardstock so that the "right" side of the scallop shows. Sometimes I forgot to do this and I don't have the "smooth" side of the scallop. I hope I made myself clear?

Thanks for stopping by.

If nothing ever changed...

Hello everyone! Happy Saturday! (It is Saturday in Jakarta as we are 11 hours ahead of EST and those of you in the East Coast of the US). Sunny and bright outside...

Aren't these butterflies adorable? I stamped them in Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White cardstock. Then I punched them out with the SU! Wide Oval punch, mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals for an extra height and 3D look.  The card base is Bermuda Bay. The DSP is from this year's Sale-a-Bration. I scalloped one edge of the DSP with the Scallop Edge punch. And last, I added the sentiment and 2 buttons to finish off. And after I finished the whole project, I looked at it again and thought, this sentiment is just for me!! My world around me is constantly changing and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I am making another house a home and though I like having a clean slate to start with (and a wicker market right across the street which can be a whole new adventure! There is literally any kind of containers you can think of, any shape, any color, small weave, medium weave, big weave, etc... I can go on and on... and I am on my best bargaining mode when I am there... LOL...) oops I digressed...
I do feel overwhelmed sometimes with all the things that need to get done with settling in a new place.

I hope you like the card and I wish you a good relaxing weekend with your loved ones.

Blessings,
Liza

Praying for you...

Hello!! Happy Saturday... Just a super simple card. Stamped with Craft Whisper White ink on Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock. Then, the panel is mounted on a Kraft card base.

This week literally flew by! I don't know if you read the news but there was an earthquake in Jakarta 3 days ago. (What an adventure living here, huh?) We live on the 4th floor of an apartment building, my children, my parents who were visiting and the housekeeper were home at that time. I was down at the lobby when it happened. I ran upstairs to pick up the kids as they evacuated the building but everybody upstairs were already down. As we were waiting until the building was deemed safe so that we could return home, I was thinking of the earthquake in April 2008 that happened in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. We lived in Beijing at that time but lived in a single family home so didn't feel it much. But my friends Kelly and Carol who lived on the 21st floor of a building felt the earth shook. That was exactly what everybody felt here.

When we returned, I found that almost every room has thin cracks on the wall. Nothing serious, just some touch up will do. We are all safe, but my thoughts go to the people who lost their family members, homes...

This is our 6th week here and the good news is our shipment is here, it will be delivered on Monday! Yipeee.... I am going to be busy setting up an empty room as our craft/activity room. I hope you all have a good week :)

Hugs,
Liza
