Christmas sneak peek

Hello there, crafty friends. Today I have a sneak peek Christmas card to show you. These are products that will debut on Sept. 1, 2010 when the Holiday Mini Catalog will go live.

I have to say that dry embossing is one of my go-to technique just because it promises you a 5 minute card :)

My super simple one today is using the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It has a big snowflake image surrounded by smaller snowflakes. I then simply finished it with the Color Spritzer Tool in Cherry Cobbler and the matching Cherry Cobbler 1/2" seam binding that will also be in the Holiday Mini.

And here is another quick dry-embossed card that I usually make several in one go so that I have a stash. Loving the cheerful combo of Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie :) The embossing folder is called Elegant Lines.

Bye for now... happy creating to you!
Hugs,
Liza

Money envelope

Morning everybody... *handing you a cup of coffee*.

Here is a more detailed story of the money envelope. This is actually a request from a friend of a friend who now becomes my friend (confused? hehe...) so I sat down one evening to figure one out. She requested a pretty way to present a red envelope money present and this is what I came up with.

After I made it, I realized that this would be a perfect thing for an Asian paper crafter to make or anyone who lives in an Asian culture or of Asian background where giving money as presents is common. Yay!! What a happy discovery for me :) You can personalize it for whatever occasion needed: an elegant one for a wedding, a bright colorful one for birthdays and I even made a subtle blue and green one for a grieving family last week (forgot to take a picture as I rushed out the door).

Here is the inside view. I pasted a matching colored envelope inside to hold the money.

and here it is with the belly band taken off.

Thank you for peeking in today, friends. I hope my story today will inspire you to create one of your own.

Happy crafting,
Liza

First Christmas card of the year

What! Has it been that time of the year again :) Yes, I started thinking of Christmas projects. I just received my order of a new stamp set in the IB&C called Gifted. It is perfect for Christmas tags and gift attachments.

Those little images fit in the 1/2" circle punch and of course, I need to make it merry by adding bling. The basic rhinestones and basic pearls are hidden in the catalog if you can not find it, it is on p. 188. It turns out to be a great product. I am so happy to make that discovery :) Guess, you will see me adding them on future projects now :)

So, have I made you started thinking of Christmas now? Happy planning ahead!!

Liza

For you

Good morning, crafty friends!! Hope your day is off to a good start today.

Got a set of subtle colored cards today. When I saw this swirly single stamp in the IB&C, I was immediately attracted to it. I love big single elegant images like that. I stamped it simply on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock in Early Espresso. Added texture with the Dot dot dot background stamp. And then added the things that I think make every project pretty: button, bow and pearls :) My ribbon is the 1/8" taffeta ribbon. It is so easy to tie into a pretty bow.

And before I say bye today, here is my son on his first day of school with his new back pack- ready to board the school bus. Sigh... he is in first grade now. I am just a proud mommy :)
Have a great day everyone...

Liza

God has big plans for you!

Good morning, dear friends... This morning I received a special delivery of a RAK (Random Acts of Kindness). There is nothing more uplifting than receiving a hand made creation from a friend who cares.

The cross layout design is a genius... and I love the pretty paper lace. Thank you very much, Sisil! What a wonderful friendship we share...

God has big plans for you! I am looking forward to that.

Here is what I crafted all week last week. A money envelope that looks more like a party clutch. It is fashioned from a whole 8 1/2" x 11" card stock, scored at 4" and 8". I covered it with paper and then added a belly band to it. I finished it off with several embellishments: my new leaf dies, a flower, a pearl in the flower center and of course buttons (don't they make everything nicer?)

I love to see all those colors, it makes me happy.

What have you been crafting all week? I hope it lifts you up when you have time to sit down and create something.

Have a blessed week ahead.

Hugs,
Liza

Zach's card

Happy Friday, crafty gals :) I made a personalized card for Zachary's birthday party last week... a row of party hats stamped together to make my own patterned paper. I have not used my Party Hearty set for a while so it was fun to pull it out again :)

My color combo is Marina Mist, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Crumb Cake. I love that Dot dot dot background stamp, I put it everyone... :) (please bear with me...)

So, while playing with these party hats, I make another color combo: Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Crumb Cake. Then, I got to finish off with some bling :)

Pretty happy watching these party hats row... they are so cute...

All right gals, I will sign off here. Thank you for peeking in what I shared today.

Hugs,
Liza

Nursery animals

Hi, gals!! Here is a set of thank you cards that I am working on for my neighbor who is expecting a baby boy soon... :)

I chose the Animal Stories set for this project. Pretty simple as I am going to mass produce these. Don't you just love that Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta ribbon!! Me, too!!

So, before I move on with my day, let me say happy crafting to you today!

From the Heart

Good morning, people :) What's up with your day so far? Did I tell you that I finally broke down and got a Blackberry? Never thought that a stay at home mom needs one or that I would ever need it until I moved to Indonesia! It is such a part of life here that sometimes I think it is rude to see people thumbing away everywhere I go in Jakarta malls- until last week, that is! When I joined the crowd. I know... sorry... a stay at home mom needs to get connected with the outside world, too :) I am still learning to type with my thumbs, you see... but a lot of my friends are now my Blackberry Messenger contacts.

Here are a few cards that I made last week:

I played with one card at first, using my new Elegant Lines textured impression folders. Love how easy it comes together. It is truly a 5 minute creation, that I went on and made a set as below.
The 1/8" Marina Mist taffeta ribbon is so pretty and so easy to tie a bow on that now I want all of the colors... ack... and those pearls. These card base colors are: Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight. Yum...

Next up is a big 3-fold card that I specially made for a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lots of signatures in there. I am so proud to be using that pink ribbon stamp!!

Okie dokie... so here is wishing you all have a good day ahead!

Hugs,
Liza

Amour

Hello, crafty friends!! So sorry to be MIA for a while. My husband has been traveling a LOT this summer that I have just been busy with things to do around the house... I have been crafting and gotten some new supplies from the new Idea Book & Catalog which I am super excited about - though that I have not gotten around to post.

I have also been moving things around the house, rearranging furniture, and important to mention, reconfiguring my craft room :)

So, anyways, today's card is specially made for my dear friend Huey, who is also my downline. Yesterday was her 12th anniversary! (hugs Huey... I wish I were not so far away...)

I have happily stamped those hearts all over the Crumb Cake panel. You know how I love making my own patterned paper :)

Early Espresso full heart punch peeking out behind the sentiment. My new favorite basic pearl jewels are on it! You will see a lot of them in the coming days... :)

OK, so here is a full list of the supply- a number of them are new in the IB&C.

Recipe: (all by SU!)
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Stamp sets: Dot dot dot, I (Heart) Hearts, Artistic Etchings
Ink: Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Versamark
Tools: Full Heart, Large Oval, Scalloped Oval punches, Elegant Lines texture impressions folder
Everything else: Basic pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, twine

Take care and have a great rest of your day.

Hugs,
Liza
