Sail Away

Hello there, crafting friends... Enjoying your Memorial Day weekend?

I made a couple of Father's Day cards with the Sail Away single stamp from the Summer Mini catalog.
This one I simply stamped on Naturals Ivory card stock with Basic Black ink. Added the strip of scallop edge Basic Black card stock on the bottom, punched a Basic Black circle and a piece of Antique Brads (mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals). My card base is Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock.

The finishing off is a twine bow and I took out my Color Spritzer Tool and Sahara Sand marker to add some "splash" on the water scene.

Here is a similar one, except that this one I sprayed with Smooch Spritz Gold Glow. It looks like "water sprays" on the sea. It fits the theme, doesn't it?

Are you making any Father's Day projects?

Happy stamping to you,

Liza

Dream

Hello there, crafting friends...

I am sharing with you 2 things today.

Here is a piece of my craft room where I have the display corner and photo shoot background. There is something new on top of it, where it had been an empty wall :)

I have gotten this piece of Decor Elements wall decor for a long time (from the Definitely Decorative catalog) but had never made time to put it up until Marlene and Sheerah came visit. This was what they did for me. Thank you so much, girls! It was very sweet of you to take care of that and I really love it especially in the morning when plenty of natural light shines in from the window. It is beautiful... You know, it is my favorite room in the house :)

Here is what my friend Mei Tan gave me last Sunday. A handmade paper bead star. Made by Beads of Java. Made by women who live in the Merapi volcano area, near Jogjakarta. Come visit and take a look around. I am continually amazed at how creative Indonesians are. Just sharing what I found out with you.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today.

Happy creating to you,

Liza

Just Believe

Hello there, crafting friends...

Here is card that I thought would be good for a graduate. "Imagine the Possibilities"... the sentiment is from Word Play stamp set (which is 30% off until May 31, 2011).

We made this one on the day when Marlene and Sheerah were leaving :) Had to squeeze in some play time!!

I used the silhouette botanical image from the Just Believe stamp set, stamping it off a couple of times randomly to sort of make a focal point. Added the swirl from Always Elegant stamp set (can you see it?), punched the sentiment and then finished it off with hemp twine and Rich Razzleberry buttons (from the Brights Designer Buttons).

I then swiped Whisper White Craft ink pad on the raised edges of the Framed Tulips embossing to give it some added texture.

My color combo is Peach Parfait, Concord Crush and Rich Razzleberry.

Thank you for stopping by...

Love & Care

Good morning, crafting friends...

Just quickly popping by to share a trio of bookmarks that Marlene made with the Notably Ornate stamp set, Love & Care stamp set (hostess level 2 from the Summer Mini catalog) and Naturals White card stock.

Oh my!! So simple and yet so pretty. I really admire Marlene's clean and simple look.

These bookmarks make a picture together when the 3 of them are joined together. What a wonderful idea and makes a great gift to a reader.

Happy stamping,

Liza

Happy I do Day

Hello there, crafting friends...

Just saw the layout at FTL 141 above and managed to play along :) Love the feeling of playing along, too :)

I thought of making a wedding card today and made some home made ruffle from my Victoria lace trim, which I did by sticking a Sticky Strip on the bottom of the Baja Breeze scallop. The scallop was cut from Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die. Love the variety of trims it does and the fact that I can now custom make whatever color I want in the shape of trim I want :)

I had cut up a piece of Peach Parfait card stock. Stamped the flower image from Flower Fest stamp set (from the Summer Mini catalog) and the leaf image in Tangerine Tango ink to make the background.

And then last, I dry embossed the frame with the Framed Tulips embossing folder on my Naturals Ivory card base.

From Mary Fish's blog post here I learnt that the Basic Rhinestones fit appropriately the "ring" in the Happy I do Day sentiment. Yay!!

Thanks for peeking...

Happy stamping,

Liza

You're in my thoughts...

Hello there, crafting friends...

I just admired the beautifully artistic card up there. It has such a water color/ painting look to it. It is just amazing. And it is only a one layer card! Oh my....

Meet my new friend Ping Ping. She is the artist behind the card! Would you believe she is a new stamper and she has only started dabbled with ink and stamps and she is still only in high school!!

Ping Ping, Cucu (her sister) and my fellow demonstrator Ceci came over to the open house last Saturday. What a wonderful day it was.

Here is a close up look. Just Believe stamp set, Word Play stamp set, Strength & Hope stamp set, various inks and markers on a piece of Naturals White card stock and twine.

Thank you for peeking...

Happy Father's Day

Happy Saturday, crafting friends...

Just sharing with you the cards that Sheerah made during her visit here... sit back and enjoy :)

Father's Day card with the Top Note die and pearls.

Cute by the Inch stamp set (hostess level 2 from the IB&C 2011) as the focal point. And here is a happy coincidence, the images in that stamp set perfectly match the new Postage Stamp Punch in the Summer Mini catalog. Yay!! Always happy to discover a short cut like that :)

Flowers from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. Simple and lovely and a great use of the Top Note die frame.

Sunny Fun stamp set that I have colored and Sheerah finished off to make a happy cheerful summer card. Talk about team work :)

Here is my favorite, the Build a Petal punch in 2 step stamping. Sheerah brought this card home for her mom :) How lovely!!

Thanks for peeking...

Hugs,
Liza

Apple Blossoms

Hello there, crafting friends...

Marlene and Sheerah left today :( I waved them good bye as they left in the taxi that took them to the airport... And how much fun we had.

Here are cards that Marlene made during her Jakarta visit, so... sit back and enjoy :)

The flower silhouette is embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. It is so lovely and simple.

Happy Father's Day cards with the Notably Ornate stamp set and Chantilly lace trim and an Early Espresso button to finish off.

Happy Father's Day card with the Pendant Park set.

And here is my favorite: the Apple Blossoms (hostess level 2 stamp set) with buttons as flowers. Finished off with Early Espresso/white twine from the Summer Mini Catalog and a strip of Old Olive card stock punched with the Dotted Ribbon Scallop border punch. I thought this was a brilliant idea and soooo sweet and cute.

Thank you for peeking and have a great evening to you all.

Happy stamping,

Liza

Preparing for a Special Day

Good morning, crafting friends...

In honor of 2 stamping friends' visit who came from Malaysia, I hosted an open house yesterday so that Marlene Lo and Sheerah Teo got to meet as many as my crafting friends in town :) An open house means people can wander in and out as they please. Easy!

Here are 2 projects that I prepared for the make and takes.
A bookmark. Using the Strength & Hope stamp set. Because it is a bookmark, I figured it had better be a one layer piece, but still interesting. I had stamped the main butterfly image in Basic Black, and then off stamping it on top and bottom. Added a row of pearls in the middle of the butterfly image.

I added layer of text on top and bottom in Soft Suede and Crumb Cake inks, a bottom border with the Eyelet Lace punch for interest. And then finished off with a piece of Chantilly lace as the ribbon.

Here is a card with a slider. Just wanted to make something that is not so ordinary but still easy to reproduce.

The band is made of a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock, scored and folded to make the band of the card. Stamped it randomly with flower images from Fabulous Florets stamp set: in Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Old Olive.

I swiped Soft Suede ink over the raised part of the dry embossed background to add more texture and finished off with a piece of doily.

The card base is Pear Pizzazz.

And the rest is just plain fun.

Happy stamping,

Liza

Top Note purse

Good morning, crafting friends...

Just popping in to show a RAK card that my friend Sesilia sent my daughter that had this fabulous idea.

Sesil had cut a Top Note shape with the Top Note die and folded 1/3 of it down to make it look like a shape. What a clever card for a little girl!!

Hope you are inspired...

Liza

Sunny Fun

Hello, crafting friends...
Yay! It is Friday and it is time for above sketch FTL139 over at the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.

Here is my take:
Cute row of summer slippers come from a new stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalog called Sunny Fun. The stamp set has 3 super cute summer images: ice creams, slippers and kids playing in the water.

Forgive my rookie coloring. I am still a colorist in training. These are all using my Stampin' Write markers in Melon Mambo, Peach Parfait, Bashful Blue and Daffodil Delight.

The sentiment comes from a stamp set called Pretty Postage, also in the Summer Mini.

I added some Basic Rhinestones on the slippers- it needs some blings :)

Thank you for peeking.

Hugs,
Liza

Hope

Hello there, crafting friends...

I am combining 2 stamp sets that are in the Summer Mini Catalog: Strength & Hope and Fabulous Florets to make today's post.

I like that word Hope. It is encouraging, positive and it lets you know that there is something at the end of the tunnel. There is something to look forward to. If you have a friend who is perhaps going through some rough time right now, this would be a way to show you care.

I punched a Crumb Cake circle with a 2.5" circle punch, stamped the word background, stamped the florets in Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight and mounted it up on Stampin' Dimensionals. A trio of Basic Rhinestones add just enough bling and finishing touch.

I then punched the word Hope with 1 1/4" circle punch.

Oh and my Designer Series Paper at the background is also from the new Mini called Beyond the Garden. Yummy summer colors.

Happy stamping to you all...

Vintage white tray

Good evening, crafting friends...

Over the weekend, I had time to potter around the craft room and made some money envelopes. Here are a couple favorites. These two below come from the Sew Suite line with its bright, fun color palette.

Love the hand made button cards, big button and fabric brad.

This one below is a different style altogether. Nature Walk stamp set, paired with Newsprint DSP and bright Tangerine Tango card base.

Did you see the white tray that I had used as a backdrop for my project? Aww... so happy to see it :) Some of you who have been to my house would recognize my wooden trays from recycled teak wood that I had discovered some time ago. Well, I took one of those trays to the recycling lady's son across the street who painted it white- in a fashion similar to the bird cage that I had acquired in Bali in Dec. 2009.

The result is this vintage shabby looking tray. So in love.

Thank you for peeking.
