Lollipop Flowers

Hello! I am still amazed at the amount of inspiration available at the blog world... Check out this beautiful array of colors in this photo from Leslie at Creative Mint from Melissa's blog!!

This project is totally inspired by these yummy colors and uses an assortment of recycled/ reused items. These pretty peat moss pots are from my friend Ariani, who constantly thinks of me whenever she goes shopping so when she spots something that I might be able to use for my craft projects, she will pick it up :)

When I saw the photo in Melissa's blog, I immediately sent our cook, pak Medi, to the market to find me some quail eggs. (Smile...) My children have been admiring these "baby eggs" and have many questions. Hudson asked if the eggs will hatch (no, I said) and if I steal these eggs from a mama bird's nest up on a tree (no, again...)

Here is an individual flower:

The skewers are from the kitchen, the paper shreds are from a previous present. Then, I started to work. Die cut and punch different shapes of flowers, layer 'em up, plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals. My color combo is Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turqoise and Naturals Ivory. I stamped on some, dry embossed on some. These are nothing but cardstock, ink and stamps.

Here it is together on a little wooden tray I found while shopping last week. They are sitting by the window counter of my craft room. The happy flowers make me smile :)

FTL 81

Good morning! I woke up, had coffee in my hand and checked out the latest FTL 81 here. I am thinking Easter cards :)

While I was at it, I noticed there is a 1 3/4" circle punched from a previous project in my Tea Party DSP stash, so I punched out a few more and playing with another circle themed card.

The pink flower jewel is from my daughter's art and crafts stash that had not been cleaned after she finished playing, so I stole one to add to my card :)

A paper butterfly wreath

Hi there! Hope the week goes well for everyone so far... This is something that has been swimming around in my head for weeks- so glad to finally see it come to life :) I had acquired a wreath made of hay at a local market before Christmas, fully intending to make my own Holiday wreath for our front door.

One day last week, I finally got around to the wreath. I cranked and cranked all sizes of butterflies die and the butterfly punch in these neutral color combo: Naturals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, and Kraft.

This makes me think of my friend Huey (hi, dear!!), who loves projects utilizing the Big Shot machine. Mmm... if only she is around here, we would do this together, over tea and some dainty cookies and perhaps fight over the color combo :)

Here is the whole wreath. As you can see, I stamped on some, dry embossed on some, and left some blank. The whole project is nothing more than ink, stamps and cardstock and plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals. The diameter is 13" and I probably cranked around 80 pieces of butterflies of all sizes. Layer 'em all up.

It is now hung on the dining room wall :)

Color ThrowDown 82

Hi there... This color combo is from the CTD blog which I learnt from LeAnne's beautiful blog. The color grabbed me because it is outside my comfort zone. So I am trying something new today. My Not Quite Navy ink pad is almost new :)

I am using the Write Stuff Specialty DSP with its large Old Olive textured die cut flower, layered the Not Quite Navy butterfly on it.

Here is the result, which turned out to be what I have in mind for a girl friend who is not a girly girl type. So even though this card has butterflies, flower and pinking edges on it, it is not so frilly... if you know what I mean.

Hello with a heart

Hi! Last weekend, I pulled out this lovely set of DSP called The Write Stuff. It comes with 3 pages of textured die cuts card stock, which can be used for journalling or to add elements on your projects.

Here is my first one. I have not torn papers in a long time, so this was fun :) I stamped on the journaling block. And then layered the sentiment on a punched heart.

The next one is 3 pieces of XL Fancy Flower punch outs. Created the middle of the top flower with repeated stamped sentiments.

Good Neighbors

Hello :) I still have a stamped focal point from the Good Neighbors set from the other day on my desk, so I paired this one with a couple of the patterned papers from the Welcome Neighbor DSP (also from Sale a Bration).

I added that punched Round Tab and Kraft corduroy button as a fun element.
