Birthday Owlie

Good morning and happy Sunday, crafting friends... The sketch of FTL125 is up here and I have a request of an owl birthday card in bright candy colors for a little girl.

So I combined both the sketch and the request and came up with this:

I pulled out my owl punch which now I realized, haven't been used much (we shall remedy that...) and had fun paper piecing this owlie. I even polka dotted his vest :)

I had saved my paper scraps so I pulled out these bright candy colors of: Pear Pizzazz, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

I thought my owl needed a "perch", so I added the Chantilly Lace ribbon there.

Simple and fun!! Not to say a sketch that will allow me to use up those scraps.

Enjoy your Sunday, crafting friends. Thank you for peeking.

Hugs,

Liza

A sweet treat from a friend

Good morning, crafting friends...

My friend Elysa went to Taiwan during the Christmas holiday with her family and she brought back these Taiwanese yummies: milk tea and a box of tiny pineapple tarts. The pineapple tarts have a dollop of pineapple jam inside. Mmm... We all love it, they were gone in 2 days!! Thank you, dear Elysa for the sweet treats!!

Here it is before tea time :) in one of those pretty mugs from my days of poring the market in Beijing.
Which inspired me to make a mini 3x3" card with the Tiny Teacup single stamp.

I had cut up some time before, several blank Crumb Cake mini cards just to have on hand. This comes in handy when you just want to stamp right away. One 12x12" card stock yields 8 mini 3x3" cards with no waste.

I grabbed the new Baby Blossoms stamp set (in the Occasions Mini catalog) which have a bunch of tiny and feminine flower images (think Laura Ashley or those English garden florals) and just randomly stamped all over the surface. Rose Red ink for the buds and Pear Pizzazz for the tiny leaves.

And then the Tiny Teacup stamp punched into a large oval. Finished off with a Pretty in Pink button.
Here is another of those mini bud blossoms, they are so pretty. I only stamped the sentiment focal point this time. The background is a new DSP called Springtime Vintage.

Thank you for visiting today, crafting friends. Please think of the tea cup as some time spent together in my craft room.

Hugs and happy stamping,
Liza

Sew Suite

Hello there, crafting friends... I am sharing a card that I made because I saw this Curtain Call Color Challenge over at Stacey's blog. What a fun combination, so I gathered my supplies for this one:
The challenge is closed now because of course, by the time I saw it, the time limit was over :) but, here it is, anyway.

The stamp set is called Sew Suite on the Occasions Mini catalog, that I had framed with the Framed Tulips embossing folders.

Just think of me as a seamstress wanna be :) A sewing machine is next on my wish list :) (Hello, Mikiko... !!)

Have you ever attempted to wrap a brad into the center of the twine bow? That's what I tried to do with the Sweet Stitches fabric brad above. I had cut the brad prongs with my Craft & Rubber scissors. I thought that's a fun touch.

Enjoy...

Happy stamping,

Liza

The gift of music

Good morning, crafting friends... there is something that I have been "wishing" for in my craft room (and my husband has been "listening")...

It came in the shape of this:
Yay!! So happy!! It has to be red, of course :)

Here is a quick thank you card for my husband's colleague who picked it up for me and brought it all the way here.
It has to be red, of course :) Poppy Parade card base. The pretty swirly stamp I used is called Elizabeth and it will be available as a Sale a Bration gift starting January 25 with every $50 purchase (US addresses only).

I dry embossed the Crumb Cake panel after I had stamped on it- I love the added texture that way. Marina Mist ribbon and Marina Mist button tied with twine are the finishing touches.

Thank you for taking a peek today, crafting friends. Happy stamping...

Hugs,

Liza

Nature Walk

Hello there, crafting friends... I hope you're enjoying your Saturday so far. Today is a day spent pottering around the house for me and I enjoy it :)

I am playing along with the latest FTL 124 sketch on Clean and Simple Stamping blog here:
and here is my version:

I have been making cutesy whimsical stuff lately, I am changing gear with this one. The stamp set is called Nature Walk. It is a collection of lovely nature images. My card base is Not Quite Navy and the patterned paper in the background is called Botanical Gazette DSP.

I added Chantilly lace, a Cherry Cobbler button (from the Regals designer button collection) tied with twine, a tiny flower that's bent up to show some dimension and a pearl in the center.

Pretty straightforward, really. Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up everything. I would be lost without those :)

And guess what I stumbled upon in the newsstand across the street the other day? Yes! The Martha Stewart Living Magazine in Bahasa Indonesia!! Of course, I got to buy it to check it out... Here is a story of the publication gone international.
I love poring through magazines.... :)

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit, crafting friends. Thank you for peeking in.

Hugs,

Liza

Banner crazy

Good morning, crafting friends...

Remember my post on Sweet Stitches banner card here? Well, that card made me so happy, that I think wouldn't it be great to make a set of those cheerful bright colors as a set of cards.

So, here are 5 of them in Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise. Yummy... I just left them be on the counter of the craft room just to look at for now :)
Enjoy your Friday!!

Hugs,

Liza
