For a wedding by the beach

Happy Friday! End of the week and I have a house warming party for all my relatives who are in town tonight so I will be busy for the rest of the day :)

This is what my sister requested for her friend's wedding in Bali next weekend. How romantic, isn't it? Since it is a ceremony by the beach, I am picturing sand and sea. Hence the color choice of Bermuda Bay for the sea and Kraft for the sand. A piece of Kraft cardstock was dry embossed with the Manhattan Flower embossing folder. Added the scallop edge, ribbon and sentiment. Done!

And while I was at it, I made an anniversary card. I die cut the Butterfly with the Beautiful Butterflies die from Kraft card stock and stamped swirls on it. Marlene can testify it is the one piece of stamp that I use on everything from filling up a blank space, adding dimension or if I just want a piece to look elegant. It is so versatile :)

Hope your week has been a good one.

Daisies die cut

Broke open my new Daisies die yesterday and played with it. I layered 2 of the largest one together to make it fuller. The flourish stamp is from Season of Joy set that I stamped twice, top and bottom. It is fun to be able to "build" swirls like that. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp set: Season of Joy, Bella Blossom (sentiment).

Matching basket and card

This is where I found the basket at Jan Tink's blog http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/stamps_paper_scissors/2009/03/a-tisket-a-tasket.html, aren't they cute? This is made from 4 scalloped envelopes die and the Big Shot. And then embellish as you wish. Those white buttons are a gift from Marlene (her blog is on my side bar). How fun and easy. And especially with double sided patterned paper, it looks pretty inside and outside. The scalloped envelope die was on my list originally to make my own envelopes and mini cards but now I found out it makes a basket, too!! Yay~~

So after the basket, I decided to make a matching card and envelope with left over scrap patterned paper. The sentiment for the card comes from the new Oval All stamp set and its matching scalloped oval punch. And I scallop edge the envelope after I adhered the patterned paper to the back flap of envelope.

I hope you are as excited as I am with this basket. LOL :)

Praying for you...

This is my contribution for CC214 over at SCS (Bordering Blue, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip). I love this Very Versatile stamp set, very appropriate name :)
My layout is cased from Dawn's blog here: www.dawnmcvey.typepad.com/these_are_a_few_of_my_fav/2009/04/scattered-showers-day-5.html

I distressed that piece of Pink Pirouette patterned paper with the blade of my scissors to give it some interest.  And again I am using my new scalloped oval punch that is featured in the Occasions Mini catalog. The Chocolate Chip button is from Button Latte pack.

I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

So I finally was able to. Here it is. The half circle was cut with my Big Shot and the large scallop circle die. The swirl stamp is from Season of Joy set. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bright Garden Greetings

Still playing with my friend Serena's stamp set :) This time in bright colors: Real Red, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie. I made a note to play more with the Bold Brights color family which is not normally my go-to colors.
This one came together easily, I already made a stash of Whisper White top note die on my table. (My kids like to help me crank that Big Shot machine...) So every time I need a quick focal point, it is there. I stamped this top note with the different sizes of the flowers. Added sentiment. Buttons. Punched a tiny hole, knotted ribbon through. Done.
Hope you like this. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Butterfly

Today's weekly sketch at SCS 223 is this http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430854
Fun sketch, but it took me so long to come up with this card :)
I wanted to play with a color that I am not normally using, like Pink Passion! (this card by Angie Tieman inspired me http://schwooo.blogspot.com/2009/04/lauras-sketch-23-polka-dot-punches.html to use this color and use my new Beautiful Butterfly die somehow :)

I made my own patterned paper again with a piece of Pink Passion cardstock. Stamped polka dot punches in white then over stamped butterflies in Pink Passion. Layered with white eyelet borders. For the focal point, I stamped the sentiment and little flowers. Double matted it. Die cut the butterfly with my Big Shot machine. Stamped white polka dots on the butterfly. Topped it with button and linen thread. Tied ribbon and mounted the whole panel on dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like it.

Raspberry Suite color challenge week 3

I made this next card last night while watching 24. When I saw pink, red and kraft, I gotta give it a try :)

I interpreted these as: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Kraft and Cameo Coral. I was thinking of Pumpkin Pie but I read Dawn's description as more pink than orange so I took that as Cameo Coral...

Still playing with Garden Greetings set... I started with a kraft card base, layered with Riding Hood Red cardstock, pieces of patterned paper from Sweet Bella DSP. I cut a large scalloped circle with my Big Shot machine and die. Stamped my circle in the different flowers and colors to make my own "patterned paper". (This is what I enjoy most about stamping: the versatility to create your own patterned paper, in whatever color and images you want to play with). Cut it in half.

I finished by tying the ribbon, topped off with Pink Pirouette button. Mounted the half circle on dimensionals. Added sentiment, mounted on dimensionals.
I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Little birdie thank you...

Today's weekly color challenge over at SCS is this http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430680
CC213: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa.

My friend Maria came to visit over the weekend and she gave me this new paper, so of course I want to play with it :) I layered floral light blue paper over the Bashful Blue card base. Then I used my Big Shot machine and Top Note die (a must have!) to cut this cute yellow paper. Aren't these papers fun to play with? (Thanks, Maria! I love it!) I then stamped this little birdie from my Cheep Talk set. Punched it and layered over Curly Punch and mounted on dimensionals. Finished off with sentiment, So Saffron button, and So Saffron grosgrain ribbon (from SAB 2009).
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like it.
