Happy Mother's Day

Hello there, crafting friends...

Popping in today with a quick sweet and feminine Mother's Day card made using Blushing Bride flower cut with the Fun Flowers Die over Newsprint DSP.

Striped grosgrain ribbon, Chantily Lace and pearls are what make it soft and sweet :) I hope you enjoy.

Happy stamping,

Fabulous Florets

Hello there, crafting friends...

I am posting samples of another sneak peek of a new stamp set called Fabulous Florets- that will be in Summer Mini Catalog on May 1, 2011. It has a combination of solid images and outline images so it is a nice combo to give you the option, if you feel like coloring, the outline images can be colored. If you like block colored images, that is available too. So the versatility is nice to have.

Here it is as a Mother's Day card- in a color combo of Night of Navy, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.

And here it is highlighted into a DIY patterned paper on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

Love the Night of Navy ribbon over the bright Melon Mambo card base. I think it makes a stylish color combo :)

Happy stamping, crafting friends...

Flower Garden

Good Monday morning, crafting friends...

When the Summer Mini catalog goes live on May 1, 2011, there will be this pretty Textured Impressions Embossing Folders called Flower Garden.

I made a simple card with it- playing around when my friend Herly came to visit (love our girlfriends' time :) ). The embossed image is a background on the card and then simply rubbed Whisper white Craft Ink with a sponge dauber over the raised images.

My color combo is Baja Breeze, Concord Crush, Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride on the ribbon. Sentiment is from All Holidays stamp set that I punched out with the 2 1/2" circle punch that is in the current Occasions Mini catalog.

A row of tiny pearls from the Basic Pearls finished off the sentiment panel.

Enjoy!!

Easter snack

Hello there...

Just quickly sharing a stack of oatmeal raisin cookies packages that we assembled for Sunday school this Sunday :)

Don't want to put too much embellishments because they will be ripped open and tossed away :) but nonetheless, I was happy to make these.

Happy Easter to you all.

Strength & Hope

Good morning, crafting friends... Today is Good Friday and it is a public holiday here.

I am featuring a sample from a new stamp set that will be available starting May 1, 2011 in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog. It is called Strength & Hope, and what's special about it is that Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from every purchase of this stamp set to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For more info about BCRF, please visit www.bcrfcure.org.

I am highlighting the vintage style butterfly image by stamping it twice. One on Naturals Ivory card stock and one on a square piece of Crumb Cake card stock. And then I punched out the Naturals Ivory one with my wide Oval punch and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A wide strip of Certainly Celery striped grosgrain ribbon further highlights the look.

Other images in this stamp set is also very useful. I will be playing with more later :)

Okie dokie... here is to a Happy Easter weekend to you all.

Happy stamping,

Liza

New Day Foster Home

Hello there crafting friends,

In case you haven't noticed, I have added a new link to my blog list on the right side bar here: Love Grows Here: the New Day Foster Home.

What's special about New Day? I have visited numerous times and have personally got to know some of the children and the people who labored with love there during the years we lived in Beijing and now that I discovered they have a blog, I definitely would love to share.

One more thing to mention that you can do to support them: there is an Amazon.com link from the New Day blog, support the foster home whenever you shop on amazon.com by clicking from that link.

Have a wonderful day to you.

18

Good morning, crafting friends... I hope your week is going well. Mine is... I had a loooooong lunch date with a special girlfriend yesterday. How precious :)

I had a request to make a special birthday card for a young lady who turned 18 last week :) She is not a girly girl but she loves to dress up and wears make up.

Mmmm... so I pulled out the colorful and cheery Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper and took my color cue from there. Here it is:

The number 18 is die cut from the Alphabet Simple Numbers die set, then dry embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folders. Added a strip of Tangerine Tango pom pom trim and a Tangerine Tango Designer Big button for the focal point.

Then, I decorated the inside and decorated a matching envelope.

What a fun project to complete in one afternoon.

Happy stamping, crafting friends...

Hugs,

Liza

Thoughts & Prayers

Happy Monday morning crafting friends,

Just sharing a quick card that I dropped in the mail for my upline Kim P. and her family - that they are in my thoughts and prayers.

The tree image is from the Thoughts and Prayers set that I have used a LOT. Not only for sympathy cards but everything else. The same tree from the Decor Elements line is also on our living room wall, behind the couch.

I wish you a good week ahead and happy stamping,

Liza

Botanical Nature Walk

Happy Sunday, crafting friends...

I am a week late with the sketch on FTL134 on the Clean and Simple Stamping blog but since it has been on my mind- I still want to play with it :)

Here is the sketch, in case you want to play with it as well.

I took out my Botanical Gazette DSP and Nature Walk stamp set (from the Occasions Mini catalog) and it becomes my card. Punched circles lined up in a 3x2 grid. That's it. The rest is self-explanatory.

A Cherry Cobbler button (from the Regals Designer Buttons pack), tied with linen thread finished it off.

Thank you for stopping by, crafting friends...

Hugs,
Liza

Fortune teller basket

Happy Saturday, crafting friends... Julie Davison in her blog post here posted a video on how to make this fortune teller basket that we used to make at grade school.

So cute :)
I made a basket using one of the patterned papers in the Springtime Vintage DSP. I added a strip of Rose Red handle punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and matching Rose Red taffeta ribbon.

Of course, this one is for my Hannah to store her whatnots :)

Enjoy your weekend, crafting friends...
