Shadow Box gift

Hello! Something a little different today :) My friend Ariani came over and we dabbled in this project, which she was giving to her best friend for her birthday.

Lots of die cut shapes here. We layered several of the Daisies #2 die in Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron. And then used Dot dot dot background stamp in Versamark to add texture.

The scallop circle had images from Of the Earth stamp set in Versamark, to show up a little bit behind the Happy Birthday sentiment.
Recipe: (all by SU! unless noted)
Cardstock and paper: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Taken with Teal, Sweet Pea DSP, orange paper (from Ariani's stash)
Stamp sets: Dot dot dot, Elegant Greetings (ret.), Of the Earth
Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip
Tools: Big Shot machine, Daisies # 2 die, Scallop Circle # 2 die, Eyelet Border punch
Everything else: So Saffron ribbon, button (from Marlene), linen thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

Next up is a quick Melon Mambo money envelope for Chinese New Year which I had made in this post, made with Mini Scallop Envelope die. Melon Mambo for girls, Real Red for boys.

From start to finish

Hello! Every now and then, it is so much fun to sit down and create a card from start to finish, a matching card and envelope. Here is one that I made for my friend Ariani using the Vintage Vogue set. My card base is Taken with Teal.

For a change it is a square card to match my Whisper White square envelope. Finished size is 5 1/4" square.
The "F friends" image was colored with Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip markers. Corduroy buttons were added to finish off.

Here is the inside and the lining of the envelope:

Vintage Vogue

Hi there! I have not got around to inking up my Vintage Vogue set until now, though I have seen some pretty samples with it :) When I looked at the flowers and leaf images, I wanted to create a patterned paper with it. It is addicting! I look at all my stamps and imagine what patterns and color combo I can create with it :)

My patterned paper... color combo is Rose Red, Taken with Teal, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Kraft.
Here is my card. The card base is Naturals Ivory. I find that it goes really well with vintage or shabby chic style.

Another happy find from that glassware store... A new home for my markers :) Colorfully residing in a square vase.
Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Liza

Birthday Bliss

Hi there! A neat little thing I learnt at the latest Stampin' Success magazine (a monthly magazine for demo) is that this little Birthday Bliss stamp matches the Wide Oval punch. How cool is that! I am always excited about things like that because it makes creating a jiffy.

So you know what I do next, try it out, of course :) Here is my super quick one.
Recipe: (all by SU!)
Cardstock and paper: Sweet Pea DSP, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Stamp set: Birthday Bliss
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Tools: Wide Oval, Scallop Edge punches

And another one in a different color that I created in a jiffy when a friend visited this morning. Love this color combo, too :) ~ Taken with Teal, So Saffron and Whisper White.
Thank you for stopping by. Happy stamping!

Best Wishes Butterfly 2

Hello! Here is today's card that I had made with a different piece of paper from the Sweet Pea stack. All the pieces there are so pretty :)

I had already had the die cut butterfly on my desk from a previous play date with girlfriends :) We were playing with die cut shapes and heat embossing. The butterfly had been stamped with Bella Toile background stamp and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. It is glittery and sparkly in real life :)

Here is the second card of the day, using up supplies that I had already laid out on the table.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Liza

A quick hello

Hi there! My cousin Lanny is visiting from Australia so here is a quick hello card I made for her. This is using October Afternoon paper and SU! Red Riding Hood card base.

And here is my latest find below, these cute vintage looking jars that become a new home for my buttons. I still need a few more of these for other color groupings. There are 3 sizes, this is the smallest. Turns out that there is a glassware factory store within walking distance from our apartment building. One afternoon, last week I walked there and picked up some fun finds :) And of course, I will be back again soon. Love that little adventure!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week!

Hugs,
Liza

FTL79 card

Hello! Here is the latest sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping blog. That was my first time creating a banner with a tip from that post (with a square punch). Thanks~ ! I thought it would be fun pairing the tree paper from Sweet Pea DSP and the little house stamp from Good Neighbors set (one of the SAB sets). Note: I used a Stamp a Majig (SAMJ) to line up the house and the roof.

Recipe: (all by SU!)
Cardstock and paper: Rose Red, Taken with Teal, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Sweet Pea DSP

Everything else: linen thread, Rose Red button, Stampin' Dimensionals

While I was at it, I am playing with a different kind of focal point treatment :) Layered that little house with punched XL flower. I stamped A to Z background on it with Versamark but it doesn't show that well on the photo. Added the little Polka Dotted heart in front.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hugs,
Liza

Best Wishes Butterfly

Hi! I am playing with a left over piece of paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. This one up there is so beautiful, I left it as is. Just added the framed sentiment from the Vintage Labels stamp set (one of the Sale a Bration sets) and twine to finish.

Here is another one that I had stamped a background and some of the botanical images from the Of the Earth set (level 1 hostess set in the big SU! catalog). I thought this matched the look of the paper and added a vintage touch :)

Here is the finished card. My card base is Rose Red.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy creating to you all!

Happy Chinese New Year! We are back from our family reunion/ Chinese New Year celebration trip to Malang. Ate too much :) and kids had lots of fun but we are happy to be home.

The patterned paper on Old Olive card stock was made with the largest of the Circle Circus stamp set. I off set it with a small unobtrusive background pattern at the back. My card base is Naturals Ivory.

I already had the punched polka dot butterfly on my desk. So I added it on and the sentiment. Just for interest, I layered 2 kinds of border punches and the twine.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope your week is a good one...

Happy Saturday! We are gone this weekend, but I have scheduled some postings :)

And then over stamped it with the little birdie and hearts. My color combo is Kraft, Sahara Sand, Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry.

I then added a border of Rich Razzleberry card stock with the Pinking Hearts border punch.

Here is the end result:

I hope you are inspired to create some patterned paper of your own :) Thank you for stopping by.

Fox & Friends patterned paper

Happy Friday! We are flying to Malang today for Chinese New Year celebration with my big family. It will be exciting to show little Hudson and Hannah where I used to spend school vacations in my grandparents' home. It will be their first trip to this mountain town.

I was just thinking what else I can make with the Fox & Friends stamp set, when it occured to me, I can make my own patterned paper :) This blog post by Geny Cassady inspired me. She made her own patterned paper with Kraft card stock! Being a paper lover that I am, I got excited about the possibility :)

Here is what I made with a piece of Kraft card stock. My color combo is Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay. Stamped these animals randomly.

Next, I made this:

And then I made this with the left over paper:

Can you imagine the possibility now? You can make your own patterned paper in any color combo that you like!

Card stock and paper: Very Vanilla, Kraft, Whisper White, Old Olive, Welcome Neighbor DSP
Stamp sets: Fox & friends, All Holidays
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip

Red envelopes

Hello :) This coming Sunday will be Chinese New Year. We will be flying to Malang (90 mins. flight from here), my parents' hometown for this year's celebration. I have prepared a stack of these red envelopes filled with money for little nephews and nieces. Actually, I am thinking, these are just going straight to the trash after. Argh.. :)

These were cut from Real Red card stock with the SU! Scallop Envelope die. I then set the flower eyelet with my Crop a Dile, stamped Polka Dot on it to add texture and finished off with the Silver cord. Pretty simple. Done in an evening.

Recipe: (all by SU! unless mentioned)
Cardstock: Real Red
Ink: Versamark
Stamp set: Dot dot dot
Tool: Big Shot machine, Scallop Envelope die, Crop a dile
Everything else: Silver cord, flower eyelet (from my stash)

And look what I got inside that little cute pillow box (too bad.. I cut off the ribbon before the photo). It is a hand made and personalized book mark from my dear crafty friend Mei, made from shrink plastic. I love pink and I always have a book to read on my night stand so off it stays next to me at nights :) Thank you, dear!!

I hope your week is going well. Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Liza

Hello! How has your week been? I am still playing with Naturals Ivory and Kraft. I happened to have a Big Butterfly Kraft die cut lying around, so I paired it with Melon Mambo this time.

I ran the butterfly in my Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions folder. Fast becoming a staple. It is not leaving my cutting table.

The middle frame was stamped in Sahara Sand, punched and stamped with a sentiment. I added the tiny Always Artichoke button to finish.

Thank you for stopping by.

Liza
