By the Tide

Hi there, crafting friends...

As some of you know, making my own patterned paper is my most favorite technique and I love to do this with any image stamp sets I have on hand. The best part about this technique is that you only need to make as little or as much as you need to. Very nice.

I also enjoy the creating process when figuring out colors and placement on my home made patterned paper.

Here is one showing By the Tide stamp set with the new In Colors 2013-2015. I grew up by the sea so this set makes me really happy.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: By The Tide, Friendly Phrases
Ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, River Rock, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pearls Basic Jewels, XL oval Punch

Here is another one showing the same colors but I was showing my friend Carol, who came to visit last week that if you pulled out a different stamp set, you will achieve a different look even though it is the same ink pad colors. What a fun discovery!

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Betsy's Blossoms, Friendly Phrases
Ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Pistachio Pudding, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel, Pool Party Baker's Twine

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed.

Daydream Medallions

Good afternoon, crafting friends...

Last week my friend Carol came over and together we made these cards (and some more). Here is another teacher's card.

We pulled out this Daydream Medallions stamp set with its matching Floral Framelits - together they coordinate really beautifully and do make "wow" projects.

Did you spy the new In Colors 2013-2015? I am using Strawberry Slush (as the card base), Pistachio Pudding (as the banner piece) and the new Color Refresh: Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry as the Medallion layers. Dreamy colors. They are almost edible :)

We both ooh and aah making these. It was so much fun.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Daydream Medallions, Family Reunion
Ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot machine, Floral Framelits, Large oval punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folders, Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel.

Here is another quick one that we made directly stamping on the patterned paper and the addition of my new By The Tide stamp set and more new In Colors: Coastal Cabana as the card base and Crisp Cantaloupe as the lobster. Yummy.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: By The Tide, Daydream Medallions, Friendly Phrases
Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, River Rock
Ink pads: Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso
Accessories: XL oval punch, Lucky Limeade baker's twine, large button, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for peeking :)

Happy stamping to you.

Just Married

Happy Memorial Day weekend, my crafting friends...

Aww.. what a cute stamp set, isn't it? Just Married is a new stamp set in the Spring Catalog and it will be carried over to the new annual catalog (stay tuned! You can view it on May 31, 2013).

I made this for my friend Yoshe is who is busy preparing for her wedding (hi, Yoshe!! Hugs) and I believe this is her wedding color combo :) Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Just Married, Sweet Essentials
Inks: Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Pool Party (Core'dinations cardstock), Naturals White, Garden Green
Accessories: Ovals Framelits, Big Shot machine, Boho Blossoms punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Large Pearl Basic Jewels

And so, this is that time of the year when we make teacher's cards, here is a remake of last year's "watermelon" cards :)

I think this is self-explanatory. You do need a 1 3/4" circle and 2 3/8" scallop circle punches. Cut both in half and layer and the watermelon is done. This is so cute if you have young children.

The sentiment stamp is from "Family Reunions". It comes with a "teacher" stamp. Useful.

Supplies used:
Stamp set: Family Reunions
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
Inks: Early Espresso
Accessories: 1 3/4" circle, 2 3/8" scallop circle, oval punches, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Brights Designer Buttons, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Brights DSP Stack, First Edition Specialty DSP.

Thank you for peeking. Enjoy your long weekend :)

Blossom punch

Good morning, crafty people...

Today I would share a stamp set and matching punch that have been used a lot in my craft room :) I love the coordination and a flower set is always useful. It makes creating quick and easy.

This one is a monochromatic one in purple. I stamped the flower 2 times, then punched out the middle one on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink. These 2 ink pads never leave my desk: Soft Suede and Early Espresso. Everything else gets put back on the Color Caddy.

And then I embellished it with 2 buttons, a large rhinestone, and a piece of banner from a scrap DSP.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Mixed Bunch, Blessings from Heaven
Ink: Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Wisteria Wonder, Early Espresso, Pool Party, Garden Green marker
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, Very Vanilla
Accessories: SAB buttons, Early Espresso Baker's twine, 1" circle punch, Blossom punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Fabulous 40

Hello there, crafting friends...

So, now I can blog about this special birthday card to a special someone who just celebrated this milestone in her life (hey there, Huey!) I can not wait to meet you this summer (hugs!)

The card was made from pieces of patterned paper from the Fanfair DSP. The number 40 was die cut using Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die. Then, I stamped the word "fabulous" (from Fabulous Phrases stamp set).

Happy with the result, I admired it for a bit then popped it in the mail :)

Supplies used:
Stamp set: Fabulous Phrases
Ink: Sahara Sand (marker sprayed), Soft Suede (inking the edges), Early Espresso
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Fanfair DSP, Delicate Details Lace Tape, Large Pearl Basic Jewels, Island Indigo Baker's Twine, shipping tag (office supply), Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die, Big Shot machine

So, here is a display that I have set up in a corner of my craft room. The display keeps changing, depending on what I currently create, but it always brings a smile :) This is a "Christmas tree" from Ikea that I had picked up during an after Christmas sale. I totally had this vision in my head what it was going to be and where I would put it, and this is one of those happy coincidences that the "vision" works. It does not always turn out that way, but this one is.

Thank you for peeking.

Postage Due

Hi there, crafting friends...

How is your week so far? I hope you have some time to relax and to create (*wink...)> It is almost the end of the school year here, I know I know! Can you believe it? Everyone is racing with time this month trying to wrap things up. A lot of events are happening this month.

I guess you know where to find me when I am frazzled with all the happenings in my life... in my craft room, among the papers and inks :)

So, today's card is using a lovely vintage style travel themes stamp set called Postage Due. It has a tropical feel to it and it is perfect to portray our life.

I stamped the main image in Rich Razzleberry ink on a piece of Naturals White card stock. I added a little shipping tag stamped with a smaller image and hung it up on a piece of twine.

Simple. Oh, I spritzed it with my trusty Spritzer Tool and Tangerine Tango marker.

Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Postage Due, Best dad Ever (sentiment)
Card stocks: Naturals White, Summer Starfruit
Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango (marker)
Accessories: Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Naturals Designer Buttons, shipping tag.

Thank you for visiting.

Happy stamping to you.

Retirement Party

Hi there crafting friends,

Info on the retiring products are here. Some items are discounted. The accessories are on a first come first serve basis, so some selections may not be available.

This patterned paper is retiring: DSP Fan Fair. Remember that images of travels are appropriate for masculine cards too. So this is a good one to have in your stash.

More Lace Tape (love!) and I have discovered that 2 scallop punches stacked together make a pretty flower (love!) and a circle punch with green card stock make leaves (yay!) You'll be seeing a lot of leaves from me :)

Shipping tags from the office supply store get to show up here and I love the look.

Now, this is my favorite part of the patterned paper. I trimmed down the Eiffel Tower image. More lace tape and more stacked scallop circles flower. And a sentiment. Done!

Oh, Hello

Hello crafting friends,

Yes! Oh, Hello!! indeed... where have I been? I am still creating but I have been having some "photography skills issue" :) We keep learning new things every day, don't we?

Today I'm sharing cards that I made with the Oh, Hello stamp set from the Spring Catalog that will end its life on May 31, 2013.

Stampin' Up! is also having its "Retirement Party" - saying good bye to all the stamp sets and the accessories that are retiring.

Designer Series Paper Patio Party that I am using on both projects today are retiring, so if you like it, make sure you get it in time before it is gone.

The interesting part of this paper is that the background paper from both projects come from the same sheet of patterned paper. One side is for the Oh, Hello card (those paper lanterns) and the back side is for the Congratulations card. Pretty neat, huh? I think they are both so pretty.

The top of the Congratulations card is using the new Details Delicate Lace Tape, also on the Spring catalog. So pretty and so wow. The neat thing about this Lace Tape is that it is repositionable. So if you find that you are not happy with its placement, you can quickly adjust it without ruining your creation. Love!

Supplies used:
1. Oh Hello card
Stamp set: Oh, Hello
Cardstocks: Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse and Crumb Cake
Inks: Early Espresso and Soft Suede (for edges)
Accessories: DSP Patio Party, Decorative Label punch, XL Oval punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Primrose Petals ribbon, Baja Breeze 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

2. Congratulations card
Stamp set: Sweet Essentials
