Very Thankful

Hello, everyone... Hope your week is going well. This weekend, I will be away with 300 other women at a women's retreat in a nearby mountain resort. Should be good for my soul :) My sweet husband will be home to entertain the kids all weekend :)

These 2 thank you cards using the Very Thankful stamp set are for my son Hudson's teachers. Everyone in his class is going to sign at the end of the school year. It is a big size 5.5 x 8.5" triple accordion fold card- plenty of space for everyone's scribble :)

For these cards, I pulled out the never been inked Very Thankful set and my Stampin' Pastels. You know, I should take out those pastels more often, it is fun to color... :) I love especially the boy stick figure image, kinda resembles Hudson, I think.

Here is the recipe below. I hope you all have a good day today. Thanks for peeking in.

Hugs,
Liza

for baby Sarah

Good morning, everyone!! I had a crafty morning with girlfriends 2 days ago and one of the projects that we made is this one (pink!) shadow box that they are going to present to baby Sarah's mom. I die cut the personalized name with the SU! Alphabet Simple Letters die, along with using the Top Note die and the Beautiful Butterflies die which makes me think, what did I do before my Big Shot days? :)

Of course, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip are our favorite color combo for a baby girl!! They are so pretty together.

We made a matching Melon Mambo baby card. Yum...

And wrapped it with matching Melon Mambo rice paper tied with twine, which I forgot to take a picture of...

That deep blue card stock is Pacific Point. My card base is Dusty Durango. I used my Crop-a-dile to set the star metal eyelet and Stamp-a-majig to make sure sentiment is placed right.

Introducing... watercolor trio

Hello there! Happy Friday!! Whew... what a day for me. I just came back from my first experience of Indonesia's largest craft exhibition Inacraft. There are so MANY to see. Nothing of the scrapbooking or stamping type but it is very interesting. The number of batik fabric that they have is mind boggling. Needless to say, I did not finish browsing as my time was up...

I started making a few things with my new summer mini preorder. Here is one of them, using the Watercolor Trio stamp set which fits the bill for non watercolorist like me :)

On the scallop circle I had stamped all 3 flower images with Soft Suede, Ruby Red and Sahara Sand ink. Pretty simple and it has that soft pretty look.

The sentiment also comes from that set and it has that combination of fancy and regular font. I like it.

All righty, I will leave you here to enjoy your Friday! Thank you for peeking in today.

Hugs,
Liza

Intoducing... Smooch Spritz

Hello!! How did your week go? Mine goes too fast. I am making a variety of projects in preparation for the event I will be a part in this coming Monday. If you are locally, come on over to the American Women Association Bazaar at the Gran Melia Hotel ballroom. Monday, April 19, 2010. From 9 am till 3 pm. Drop on by and say hello :)

My preorder of the Summer Mini is here and I have not had a chance to try out the different new toys in there :) Except for this really cool Smooch Spritz. There are 4 different colors: Silver, Gold, Vanilla and Log Cabin (which I am using above).

Very simple card above using the Sense of Time stamp set (I love that vintage clock!) and then spritzed in Log Cabin. Need to practice with how much spray and how far but it does give a really cool effect...

All righty... enjoy the rest of your evening... thank you so much for peeking in.

Funky Forest

Hello blogging friends... happy Monday! Hope you have a good rest over the weekend. A few days ago, an opportunity opened up for me to be at the American Women Association bazaar this coming April 19, 2010. So I have been busy cranking up projects for the event :)

I made a series of these "Praying for you" cards.... which I thought might be useful for a range of occasions.
This one is utilizing my Funky Forest wheel in Taken with Teal ink (farewell, Taken with Teal...), paired with Pretty in Pink card base and Ruby Red DSP.

This one is another Pretty in Pink card base with the Sweet Pea DSP Stack. I have used this DSP a LOT :) It has a good variety of patterns and trendy colors that work with a lot of projects.

All right... I wish you all a good week ahead. Thank you for peeking in today.

Hugs,
Liza

Very Vintage wheel 3 ways

Hello, everybody. Julie Marshall's blog inspired me to take out my Very Vintage wheel, ink it up and find 3 ways to do with it. She did a beautiful post here. Thanks much, Julie!

Here comes mine.
Wheeled this one on top of a Lovely Lilac panel, and then over stamped the A to Z background stamp with Very Vanilla Craft Ink. Presto! My own patterned paper.

This one is wheeled on top of Naturals Ivory card stock (my current card stock favorite for all things vintage) and then over stamped the Dot dot dot background stamp with Sahara Sand ink for added texture.

This last one is simply wheeled on top of a Naturals Ivory card stock panel and then mounted on an Old Olive card base and Old Olive patterned paper. Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon and corduroy button finish it off.

I know many of you own the Very Vintage wheel in your collection, perhaps this will inspire you to play with it :) Would you share with me what you create?

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great day.

Hugs,
Liza

Best Wishes birdie

Hi there... How is your week so far? This paper from the Sweet Pea Stack DSP is so cute, I wanted to make it the card itself. There goes another version of the "sun" again from the Blossoms Party die and stamped sentiment. I paired the whole panel with a Lovely Lilac card base. I think it will be good for a baby card :)

Thanks for peeking in today.

Schoolbook quartet

Hello, friends... Here is a quartet of cards that I had made with this adorable vintage school themed paper. The images are so pretty, I don't want to cover it up. So, I dug up this transparent organza ribbon.

I used the negative star image after I punched the star tag on the previous card. I stamped it with Dot dot dot with Versamark for texture.

I found a pencil shaped button inside my button jar :) Glad to put it to good use. The rounded tab goes with the theme, too.

More buttons and organza ribbon.

Thank you for peeking today. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Hugs,
Liza

Best Wishes sunshine

Hi, friends... I discovered sometime ago that the SU! Blossom Party die's largest flower becomes a sun when you die cut it in orange or yellow. So, here is my version today on this card.

I had run it through the Big Shot machine with Perfect Polka Dot textured folders and added Dot dot dot background stamp on the circle center. Love that tree image, too...

Thank you for stopping by. Happy stamping to you.

Birthday Home

Happy Easter and happy Sunday, everyone... I gave away all the cards in my stash so I need to build it up again :) Here are a couple that I made with the Welcome Neighbor DSP.

I added texture on the DSP by stamping the A to Z background on it. I aimed for a little "off stamping" because it was meant to just adding texture. The oval frame was Sahara Sand cardstock stamped with Sahara Sand ink.

The cards above was using left over panels from that DSP in this color combo: Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo.

Thanks everyone for taking a peek.

Liza

Easter Wishes

Good morning! We are back home again. The kids are back at school and I am in need of some last minute Easter cards. So here are real simple ones that I made last night. I am using the Eggcoutrement stamp set. That little bunny image fits the 1" circle punch.

I love that font "Easter Wishes", and this lovely DSP called Kaleidoscope. I just received it and I love the colorful patterns on those papers. I think it looks much better in real life than the small sample you see in the catalog.

Well, I am off to spend this Good Friday day off with family. I am wishing you all a Happy Easter.
