Hello! I played with one of the 2010 In Colors, Soft Suede, yesterday. It is such a joy to work with. Not quite Chocolate Chip and not Kraft. It is a nice neutral color and it is becoming my favorite :)

I went die cut happy here and cut these colorful flowers :) The card base is 5x5". I added the swirl from Note to Self stamp set (in the Holidays Mini catalog) and popped up the sentiment.

A sweet treats basket

Good morning! I made this basket for my friend Herly who loves baking sweet treats. She has shared some of her yummy treats with us :) Click here for how to make it.

Here is full view of the basket. It looks really pretty with double sided patterned paper and the whole basket uses up 1 sheet of 12x12" paper with no waste. And it gives you a decent sized basket to package your baked goodies. Yum... It is made with my Big Shot machine and Bigz Scallop Envelope die 4 times. Each envelope for each side of the basket.

And lastly before I get on with my day, here is a beautiful Christmas card from Marlene Lo which came in the mail last Friday :) It is simple, yet so nice!

I wish you all a good SHORT (yippee!) week ahead... take care!

Blessings,
Liza

Holiday Candy Bar Wrapper

Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a great time with loved ones. It is bright and sunny here, 85 degrees F/ 30 degrees C! We ate our Holiday meals in shorts and flip flops :)

I made this little gift for my mom to give to her friends.

Here is a side view. Come to think of it, I should have made both sides of the belly band with the Eyelet Border punch :)

Recipe: (all by SU!)
Cardstock and paper: Garden Green, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, Parisian Summer DSP (ret.)
Stamp sets: Season of Friendship, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Garden Green
Everything else: Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Ornament punch, 3/4" circle punch, hole punch, gold elastic cord, Eyelet Border punch

Laughter, Joy, Happiness...

Good morning! I made this matching candy bar wrapper and card yesterday for my friend Lidya's birthday. I hope she likes it :) Love that sentiment and the way it curves. It comes from the Best Wishes & More stamp set.

This is my stacked die cut flowers, cut with the Big Shot and Stampin' Up! Blossom Party die.

This is the card only. Card base is Naturals Ivory, which has little "natural-looking" dots to it that add texture. It is also thicker than Very Vanilla, thus making a sturdier card base.
This is the candy bar wrapper. Just simply added the wide belly band over it to show off the large flower pattern and stamped the sentiment.

I also made this slightly different card with a Kraft card base and added a button slide as flower center.

I hope you have enjoyed your week so far. We are spending time as a family. My husband took 2 days off work.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,
Liza

Christmas door hanging

Happy Sunday! We are back from Bali :) Oh, was it too short! We went with another family, they have kindly invited us into their vacation home.

Are you all busy preparing for the Holidays and spending time with loved ones? This is what I made to hang on our front door for the Holidays. Layered of papers, die cuts and corduroy buttons. Also please bear with me, it is also my first try tinkering with a photo with an editing software.

Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Liza

Cupcake row

Happy Sunday! How about some guilt free calories of cupcakes in different shades of reds? Again, I am using the brads that Marlene gave me for my birthday (I am making good use of those, Marlene) :) This cupcake image is from Out of the Box stamp set (level 1 hostess set from the Stampin' Up! 2009-2010 catalog.) It has that vintage feel to it, which I love.

One of the best things I find about stamping is the versatility of making your own patterned paper :) You can start by picking your color combo and then start building the patterns. I started with the piece of cardstock cut to size, started the pattern building from the lightest color. This way, I don't need to clean the stamp when I change color. Then, I added the little flowers to fill in those empty spaces.

Recipe (all by SU!)
Cardstock and paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP
Stamp set: Out of the Box, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red, Real Red, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey
Everything else: Eyelet Border, Word Window punches, hemp twine, Stampin' Dimensionals, 3/16" corner rounder

And then lastly, here is a bunch of invites I made for our friends' Holiday party.

That's all for this week, folks. We will be on vacation all of next week, so be back after the trip. Meanwhile, y'all have a good week ahead!

Blessings,
Liza

A Christmas Thank you

Hello! I made 2 sets of Christmas thank you cards as gifts yesterday. I utilized tags again as a focal point and I wanted to use the brads that Marlene Lo gave me for my birthday :) I love the 2 color look on the tag by stamping with Sahara Sand first, then overstamped the sentiment in Bravo Burgundy. The little brad in the middle finished it off and the Silver and Gold Elastic cords added the festive touch.

Here is another version of it with a different color combo.

And this is how I packaged the set, using rice paper that my friend Ariani gave me a stack of.

All supplies are from Stampin' Up!

Thank you for stopping by. Happy weekend. 2 more days before our vacation to Bali :)

Blessings,
Liza

Sweet Treats

Hello and Happy Friday! This is a project that makes me happy :) I have a bunch of these chocolate bars (yummy Starbucks coffee chocolate... mmm) that I dressed up with paper, ribbon and tag. So fun!

Here is a shot of an individual one. I stamped "sweet treats" with Bravo Burgundy and punched it with Stampin' Up! new Ornament punch. Stamped the snowflake, punched it out with 3/4" circle punch and mounted on Dimensionals. Looped through Stampin' Up! Silver Cord (available in the Holiday Mini). Voila... a quick cute tag is born.

Here is a group shot :)

Supplies (all by SU! unless noted):
Paper and cardstock: Sahara Sand, Bravo Burgundy, Parisian Summer (ret.)
Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Season of Friendship
Ink: Bravo Burgundy
Everything else: 5/8" Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, burgundy ribbon (from my stash), 3/4" circle, Ornament punches, Stampin' Dimensionals, Silver and Gold cords

The shepherds and a star

Good morning! I created this card for our ladies' craft morning last Monday, which was SUPER fun! We laughed so much :) I used a half Top Note die as a focal point and punched the Star with a 3/4" circle punch. The stamp is my favorite Christmas sets: Season of Simple Grace.

All the supplies are Stampin' Up! except the patterned paper which is MME.

This is my Hannah who can just fall asleep anywhere :) I just had to take a picture...

Thank you for stopping by.

Blessings,
Liza

Huey's Christmas card event

Beautiful, isn't it? Thought, I wanted to pass the word around. (This is my second post for the day... please scroll down for my earlier one.)

My friend Huey Tsao, a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator and crafting buddy designed these beauties. She is going to show you how to make these tomorrow night in her craft studio. So if you live in Northern VA (USA) and are interested, send her a message on Facebook.

Have a good day, folks...

Blessings,

Masculine card and a sale

Hello! I thought some masculine cards are needed for my stash so I got working... That little "happy birthday" sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set which I must say is super useful for a card maker like me :) It has all the necessary year round events.

I punched the large star and then dry embossed it with SU! Finial Press embossing folders. Love that stuff, too...

An announcement:
Stampin' Up! Holiday sale will be on December 11-22, 2009. So stay tuned! Check my online store beginning Dec. 11. You won't want to miss it... Many never-before-discounted items :) Yay...
(Note: US addresses only).

All right... so you all have a good week...

Altered book set

Hello! This blog post by Ingrid Danvers inspired me to make an altered book. When I saw her post, I thought, perfect, I have a "notes" stamp set :) This would make a lovely gift. Since I have 2 books at hand, I might as well altered both of them... he he. When I finished the project, I made matching cards with left over scraps.

Here are the whole set... I used SU! Parisian Breeze Specialty DP which turned out lovely because they are patterned and textured card stocks. Thick enough to make the books sturdy. I covered both front and back of book. And because it is textured, it has a lovely feel to it.

Here it is one by one...

Each flower was die cut twice and layered from SU! Blossoms Party die.

I layered Top Note die, Chocolate Chip ribbon, flower and "notes" stacked on it.
Recipe: (all by SU!)
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Parisian Breeze Special DP.
Stamp set: Note to Self, Fresh Cuts
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Everything else: Scallop Edge punch, 1" circle, 1 3/8" circle punches, Chocolate Chip ribbon, Kraft corduroy buttons, Top Note die, Blossoms Party die, Big Shot machine, Stampin' Dimensionals

Check this out...

Hi! Notice my new fab background? I found it while reading Mei Tan's blog, she has this beautiful background from Shabbyblogs.com
Cool, huh? Just thought I would let you know.

Birthday cards

Hello! That was my little Hannah goofing around when I sat down making cards :) My friend Mirari snapped this and some other really cute ones of Hannah.

Just more birthday cards for my stash today...

This is SU! Butterfly punch that I had dry embossed with the SU! Filigree embossing folder to give it texture.

Love this color combo of Basic Gray, Teal and Pink. I think it comes out pretty.

Thank you for stopping by!!

Liza

A merry wreath...

Happy Thanksgiving! It is rainy outside this morning. My husband has the day off, he is at the golf course :) It is not a school holiday so my son boards the school bus as usual...

Here is a card which I somewhat cased from Melissa Phillips's blog here. You know I go there often to ooh and ahh at her creations! When I saw this card, I thought that was an unusual background and color combo. The patterned paper does not match the card base but at the same time, it looks pleasing to the eye. So I just had to try it myself :)

And here are some mini cards that I made with SU! 3x3 ready made card bases.

Have a great holiday. Thank you for stopping by!

Hugs,
Liza
