As the deer...

Panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship Thee...

My heart is with Philip and Mega and their daughters as they mourn the going home of their 3 year-old daughter, Clida. As I prayed for them, I was reminded of the deer song above. Then, I remembered I have a deer stamp, hence my decision on the card. Not an easy one to make and not a sentiment stamp that I wanted to ink.

I also made a batch of matching thank you cards. I hope it will be just a little something that might be useful. I wrapped the cards in brown rice paper and tied it with light blue ribbon.

I gotta go now. I wish you all a good day and thank you for stopping by.

Pink and brown combo

Good morning! I was playing with pink and brown the other day. It is always a fun combo to go to.

On this first one, I stamped the Bella Toile background in Melon Mambo on Pretty in Pink cardstock. I love how it stands out with the darker shade of ink:) Then I added the Butterfly die cut (it had been sitting on my desk as I cut a few at a time in Kraft card stock). I stamped a little bit of swirls from the Note to Self stamp set. And added the button, ribbon and scallop edge.

This is a birthday card for a girl's first birthday party. The cupcake image is from Out of the Box stamp set, colored in with Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip markers. Looks yummy without the calories :)

Hope you all have a good week so far. Thank you for stopping by :)

{grateful}

Hello! End of the week here :) We returned from our short vacation to Manado, a 3-hour flight from Jakarta. How did your week go?

I made this wall hanging yesterday. Just wanting something fun to go along with my pumpkin decoration :) I stamped the row of leaves on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, scalloped one edge of it. Added the thin strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock, stapled it. Mounted the whole panel on a piece of  scalloped 12x12" patterned paper (that I have been hoarding! A gift from Keisha Campbell long ago.) Added a length of Chocolate Chip ribbon. Done. I am hanging it on our front door.

I hope you might be inspired to create something for your home, too? Thank you for stopping by.

Falling Leaves

Hello! One quick post before I leave for the trip :)

This is a card I made as part of our home decor right now. Found some pumpkins at a grocery store/British department store one day so I snatched them. Unlikely place to find them, I thought...

Yesterday our friend Don, whose parents are from Padang, came over for dinner and showed us his photos of Padang. He just returned from Padang the night before to help his relatives there with recovery work post earthquake. His cousins, uncles, family friends lost their homes. (And speaking of earthquake, Jakarta was hit with a 6.3 Richter scale one yesterday. I didn't feel it much but others did). I can imagine how hard it is on him right now to see first hand all the ruin.

Thank you for stopping by and thank you for praying along with our family, have a great weekend to you all!

Happy Friday :)

Hello! Happy Friday! It is school's vacation here and we are off on a short vacation tomorrow to Manado, a diving resort up north in Sulawesi. The Bunaken National Park alone has over 100 dive spots there. Only my husband is the diver but I am sure we will all have a good time. We will be at a cottage by the beach.

Yesterday, my friend Mirari came over for a little bit so we got to hang out in my craft room. Here is what happened :)
This is a birthday card for uncle Isaiah, a family friend. The tree is an image from the Pendant Park set. I love the clean looking image, perfect for a man card.

My next card is using a new stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog called "Note to Self".

I love that swirl image and the layout for this card comes from a CNN commercial news break. It has some kind of swirl as well on the TV screen. The image kinda stuck in my head :)

This little stamp set comes with some cool elements to build a memo, note pad or those kinds of organizational items. This card will be in the mail for a certain someone who loves the "office look" :)

Thank you all for stopping by! I will be back with posting after we return. Happy weekend :)

The joy of new stamps!

After 2 months of moving and settling in, I received a new package of Stampin' Up! supply and I almost forgot how exciting it is! And I met a sweet lady who shared my excitement along the way- so happy to meet another crafter :)

I went home and stamped this birthday card for my uncle's upcoming birthday with my new Pendant Park set! And then went back to preparing for the party last night.

I am off with the rest of my day. Hope you all have a good weekend.

For a wedding by the beach

Happy Friday! End of the week and I have a house warming party for all my relatives who are in town tonight so I will be busy for the rest of the day :)

This is what my sister requested for her friend's wedding in Bali next weekend. How romantic, isn't it? Since it is a ceremony by the beach, I am picturing sand and sea. Hence the color choice of Bermuda Bay for the sea and Kraft for the sand. A piece of Kraft cardstock was dry embossed with the Manhattan Flower embossing folder. Added the scallop edge, ribbon and sentiment. Done!

And while I was at it, I made an anniversary card. I die cut the Butterfly with the Beautiful Butterflies die from Kraft card stock and stamped swirls on it. Marlene can testify it is the one piece of stamp that I use on everything from filling up a blank space, adding dimension or if I just want a piece to look elegant. It is so versatile :)

Hope your week has been a good one.

Tutu #2

Good morning! I made another tutu card :) This is for my cousin Lanny whose birthday is today :) Happy birthday, dear! She lives in Perth, Australia so we don't see each other often.

I started with a Kraft card base (I seem to have a love affair with Kraft cardstock!), added the patterned paper, punched out the focal points, stamped the sentiment and finish off with the blings :)

Thank you to all who asked about the earthquake in Indonesia. Recovery efforts start and help start pouring in. Please pray for the people that might still be found alive under the rubble. They are racing with the clock out there. Hopefully they have enough equipment to dig through it.

Hope yours is a great day today!

World Card Making Day is today...

Hi! Happy World Card Making Day :) I am about 12 hours ahead of most of you so mine starts earlier...
Here is my card. I seem to be on a kick of making this kind of "naturalistic" style (is that a word?)- it must be living in a tropical country kind of influence :) This feels so Balinese to me.

Here is a photo of the picture that inspired the cards from the last 3 entries- which is a book that my friend Ariani left for me to pore over. It is just inspiring! (Thanks, Ariani!)

I want to say a heartfelt thanks for you all who prayed for the earthquake victims.  There are a lot of needs out there, I am praying those needs will be met also.

What has inspired you today? Have a happy stamping day today :)

Blessings,
Liza

Raspberry Suite color challenge

Hi again! When I saw Dawn's latest color challenge yesterday, I thought I would give it a try. My colors are Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, Kraft and Chocolate Chip. The swirl stamp I used is part of a tree stamp from Trendy Trees. I just used the top of the tree part and punched it out. Can you picture sea shells on a beach by the colors and the swirl circles? I hope this card is not too "minimalistic" :)

Also, I would add an update for you who asked about the earthquake in Padang, Indonesia. Please pray for the people who lost their homes and loved ones. It is bad. Last night, there was another unrelated earthquake nearby Jambi. I heard some sad stories, they found one mother with her 5 month old baby in her arms. Both dead. A mother was waiting outside her 14 year old daughter's school. Hoping she might survive. And on and on. My heart goes out to them. The number of victims are not tallied up yet as evacuation is still ongoing, but it is already close to 900 so far.

Thank you for praying. And I hope you like the card.

My 2nd Christmas card...

Hi! I was inspired for this card from the book that my friend Ariani left. It has the kind of "island" look that I want to achieve, which fits since we live in a tropical place.

Sorry for the photo quality for yesterday's entry. My husband has the SLR, he is living on a boat in some remote island right now. When he said that he was going to Wakatobi, I thought it was in Japan! LOL! It is actually a tiny place in the island of Sulawesi here. I am sure he will bring home some beautiful photos!!

Thank you for those of you who asked about the earthquake in Padang, Indonesia. We are fine- a bit out of the way, I guess. Jakarta is safe. But we just experienced an earthquake in Jakarta just 4 weeks ago, I know how it feels. The island of Sumatra was where the tsunami 2004 in Aceh happened. And there have been numerous earthquakes since then. Just pray for those families who lost their loved ones and homes.

Thanks for stopping by.
