Delicate Doilies

Hello there, crafting friends...

Finally had a chance to share what I made for my friend Cassy's wedding. A money envelope that I had made from this patterned paper from my post here.

The sentiment is from God's Blessings that I had added a punched out frame with the Decorative Label punch. Added a strip of Chantilly Lace ribbon, a Crumb Cake button (from the Neutrals designer buttons collection) tied with Early Espresso/ Whisper White twine.

Happy stamping...

Broadsheet Alphabet

Hello there, crafting friends...

It has been a hectic week!! Our cook is sick and has to be hospitalized. We have also been sick and tired and trying to manage between work, home and taking care of the kids ... So I have not stepped into my craft room :( I have been peeking with longing in the mornings when it is light and airy from the morning sunshine and enjoy seeing the natural light through the floor length windows. But that's about it :)

Here is a home made patterned paper that I made using the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set and a stack of the new In Color 2011-2013 ink pads. This was a joy to make and I was thinking of Huey (hi, dear!!) the whole time because she loves fonts :)

I had stamped these on a piece of 8.5 x 11" Naturals White cardstock and really love how it turned out. I spritzed some Pink Pirouette marker with my Color Spritzer Tool to finish off this patterned paper (click on the photo to make it larger).

Here is what I made the patterned paper into. Sentiment is from Perfect Punches stamp set and I added a strip Daffodil Delight scallop border that I had die cut with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die.

Here is hoping everyone is healthy and safe...

Hugs,

Liza

Another RAK

Good morning, crafting friends...

I have been so fortunate to have these wonderful crafty people around me. My friend Sassi came over for a play date last week and look what she brought for me!!

Her own hand made creations!!

Imagine she made this without ever knowing that a Big Shot machine and dies and punches and all these tools exist! Can you imagine what she will make when she does?

Thank you, Sassi... I gave this particular one away to another dear friend! So we all share the blessing of your creations.

Hugs,

Liza

Candy wrapper no. 2

Hello there, crafting friends...

A couple of you asked what was under the candy wrapper in my post here :) So, here it is :) I have been on a roll finding these candies from my childhood lately, haven't I? Not too long ago, I rediscovered this one too, we used to call it "the rooster brand" chocolate candies :)

Even the packaging still remains the same (to my recollection), it has this same vintage looking font, red paper wrapping and even the "rooster image" is still the same.

My children love it and I have a stash of these at home :)

That's when the idea hit, I could just wrap a few of these and give it away as little gifts. And it is nice to share the little story behind it, that these are candies from my childhood.

If you are interested in making these candy wrapper gifts yourself, you can easily adapt this idea into whatever candy bars that are available in your area.

Happy creating to you,

Liza

Posy punch envelope

Hi there, crafting friends...

This is what I have been up to in the craft room this week: making a bunch of these "gift card/money envelopes". Here is one of them, dressed up with a tag made out of the Posy Punch hostess stamp set (in the Idea Book & Catalog 2011-2012).

I just adhered the inside with 2 pieces of Sticky Strip on either end to make it a pocket. Easy peasy and no messy glue. (Note to self: must not run out of Sticky Strip!)

Now, you must have seen the piece of patterned paper underneath that money envelope...

I am experimenting with making a whole sheet of DSP, just patterned paper with different sized images from the Delicate Doilies stamp set with a sprinkling of smaller images from the Button, Button stamp set- and actually liking the process of making it. A LOT!! Ha :)

This is a 8.5" x 11" Naturals White card stock that I had stamped in random, starting from the biggest image to the smallest one. The colors that I had picked out for this one are: Regal Rose, Tangerine Tango, Calypso Coral (a new In Color 2011-2013), Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. Then for added good measure, I sprayed Pink Pirouette marker with my Color Spritzer Tool. Ha ha!!

Now, I haven't done anything with the home made DSP yet, it is just sitting there on my display white vintage tray for me to admire :) We'll see what next...

Enjoy your week, dear crafting friends... and happy stamping,

Liza

Candy wrapper

Hello there, crafting friends...

Happy 4th to all of you in the US. Having a day off and spending it relaxing at home. My husband took the kids out to brunch and I opted for the peace and quiet at home :)

I made several of these candy bars wrapped and decorated last week, with the arrivals of some new colleagues and neighbors.

It's been fun sharing these and thought it is a nice little way to say "welcome".

Here is a quick demo card in the wedding colors of the guest who came to visit my craft room last week :) This is a new In Color 2011-2013 called Wisteria Wonder as the card base. Sentiment is from Love & Care hostess stamp set in the Summer Mini Catalog.

Thanks for peeking, crafting friends...

Happy stamping to you,

Liza
